Devon to play at Braid Real Music club

SINGING sensation Devon Sproule will be bringing her highly original style to The Braid Real Music Club at the Braid Arts Centre on Monday, June 20, as part of a headline European tour to coincide with the release of her forthcoming album I Love You, Go Easy.

The Ontario-born singer’s music shares elements of folk, country and jazz with an idiosyncratic, highly original style. It is a style that has gained her a fan in Jools Holland leading to an appearance on his show.

She appears at The Real Braid Music Club supported by Canadian- born Julia Kent who was an original member of the cello rock band Rasputina. After leaving Rasputina she joined Antony and the Johnsons where she contributed to the group’s Mercury Prize winning record ‘I Am a Bird Now’. As a solo artist she has performed at the Donau Festival in Austria, the LEM festival in Barcelona and at venues throughout Europe and the U.S.

Both acts are support by local favourite Joe Allen.
