Help brave Molly meet One Direction

A campaign is gathering momentum to make a nine-year-old Ahoghill girl’s dream of meeting One Direction come true when they play Belfast this October.

Molly Taylor, is bravely battling Medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumour, having been diagnosed last year and, in the months since, she has endured surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

After everything Molly had been through, her family had desperately tried to get tickets for her to see her absolute idols - One Direction - who are playing the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, in October, but with no luck.

However, a family friend, Philip Johnston stepped in and worked with a radio station to secure tickets for Molly, her mum Lisa and sister Ellie to see them in concert.

And, now Philip’s on a mission to also secure a meet and greet between the world famous boy band and Molly whose favourite member is Niall Horan.

Last November the make-a-wish foundation had been in contact with Molly’s mum and had arranged a meeting with One Direction in London.

Unfortunately it was the same day Molly started a further treatment of chemotherapy and stem cell replacement and she was unable to go.

Within 24 hours of Philip putting the page ‘Please help Molly meet one direction in Belfast Oct 2015’ on facebook, the campaign went viral attracting offers and messages of support not only locally but from around the world.

A recent post on the page has confirmed that “things are looking good” with news expected within a few weeks regarding a potential ‘meet and greet’ with the band.

It states: “There has been some positive feedback with messages of contacts reference One Direction and at the moment we are waiting to hear back from someone in two weeks with hopefully the news we are waiting for!”
