Ivory Pavilion venue for Academy May Ball

The new Ivory Pavilion in the grounds of historic Galgorm Castle will be the venue for Ballymena Academy Old Pupils' Association May Ball on May 20.

Guests will be treated to a fine dining experience from Jane’s Kitchen and entertainment from Conor Taggart and the Phat Katz.

The black tie event which will raise funds for both the Old Pupils’ Association and the RNLI is set to be another bumper night for the Association (OPA). President Kenneth Fleming said: “I’m delighted that we are part of new history of Galgorm Castle and the first event at the Ivory Pavilion and look forward to the first class reception we will receive. Personally I am excited to welcome so many past pupils and friends of the school to what will be a great evening full of fine dining and lively entertainment. And always there will be plenty of opportunities to reminisce about old school days.”

Laura Armstrong from the Ivory Pavilion welcomed the May Ball as the first event to be held there; “We are thrilled that the Academy May Ball is the first event which we will host, it will be lovely to welcome familiar faces who have grown up locally knowing the history of Galgorm Castle to enjoy the next chapter of this historic site.”

The May Ball is part of the year-long schedule of events which also included the recent Daffodil Tea held in April and the Cycle Sportive held on May 7.

The Association fundraises throughout the year for various charities as well as to raise money to reinvest within the School. All past pupils are automatically enrolled as members of the Association and all events are open to both past pupils and friends of the School.
