Musikfest returns to Glenarm

THIS month sees the return of the incredible Impact Promotions Musikfest, the illustrious four-day summer festival held in the idyllic coastal village of Glenarm.

Once again bigger and better, the festival offers superb entertainment for every age, taste and background.

The event kicks off again this year with the fun-filled “It’s a Knockout” on Thursday, May 27, which was last year thoroughly enjoyed by participants and spectators alike. Friday night, May 28 sees the return of the fantastic Fancy Dress Parade and Vintage Rally.

Impact Promotions want to invite even more of you to come and join in with us this year to make it another special evening of fun and frivolity.

As usual, after the Parade and Prize-giving the evening will continue with the delicious free BBQ and live music on the beachfront with Zolene and the ALS band. Registration for this event commences at 7pm on Altmore Street. Individual and Group entries are invited to take part, as well as floats. It promises to be another delightful evening , so come along and join in the fun.

Saturday afternoon introduces a new event to the Musikfest program.

In association with Glenarm Rowing Club, Impact Promotions are proud to present the Antrim Coast 2010 Regatta.

This comprises several rowing clubs from along the Antrim Coast contesting for the win in their gigs, along beautiful Glenarm Bay. The first race begins at 12 noon.

The excitement is building among the Impact Promotions team as preparation hits fever pitch in anticipation of the main event.

Impact Promotions are excited to confirm the appearance of Brent Keith, American Idol 2009 and Nashville Star finalist, to headline Saturday night's music extravaganza.

Brent has carved a highly successful musical career after reaching the live finals of American Idol and producing the theme song to “The Dale Earnhardt Story” movie.

Saturday night kicks off at 7pm at the Beachfront and as usual will conclude with the stunning fireworks display over Glenarm Bay.

A fantastic end to an amazing night! An impressive line-up will also precede Brent Keith's performance including Leah McFall, winner of the Coca-Cola All Ireland Music Finals and Best Vocal Talent at the ITS International Showcase Event in Paris, Dan Lyth, local vocal group Revelation and the Psalm Drummers.

Juls Martin from U105 will compere the event again this year. There will also be a designated Musikfest Kids Zone where the kids can enjoy entertainment such as bouncy castles and face painting. So come along and enjoy what promises to be an incredible night, the best part being that it is all completely FREE of charge! There is no admission charge and free car parking is also provided for your convenience.

The weekend will then wind down on Sunday afternoon on the beachfront from 3.30pm with a Summer Live Session performance by Dan Lyth and band, who will bring Musikfest 2010 to a close. The Scottish band’s unique toe-tapping style has earned them recognition and popularity which has resulted in BBC Radio 1 Scotland airtime. Once again admission is free.
