Old classics at The Old Courthouse

HOPEFULLY you won't be Singing in the Rain but enjoying a bit of Philadelphia sun if you go along to the old films being shown in The Old Courthouse.

As part of Age Awareness week, which runs from September 25 to October 2, The Old Courthouse will be presenting the all time greats, Singing in the Rain and The Philadelphia Story.

Kerry Brady, Community Support Officer, said: "The theme for this year is ‘Recognition’ that is why we are presenting two very recognisable films.

“Everyone of a certain age knows the famous scene where Gene Kelly dances through the puddles and where Cary Grant and James Stewart vie for the attentions of Katherine Hepburn.

"Unfortunately, it's usually only on television that we get to see these greats now. This is a fantastic opportunity to see them once again on the big screen.

"It promises to be a fantastic afternoon's entertainment. Be sure to gather up a group of your friends, spread the word amongst your Seniors' groups and enjoy some nostalgia at the Old Courthouse."

The Philadelphia Story will be shown on Monday, September 27 at 2.30pm and Singin’ in the Rain will be on Tuesday, September 28 at 1.30pm.
