RBMA back at Oxegen

AFTER the huge success of the Red Bull Music Academy last year, OXEGEN will welcome back the state of the art tented structure for a second year.

In 2010, the Red Bull Music Academy returns with a line-up boasting an eclectic mix of all that's great in modern music across an eclectic mix of genres, including sets from a host of acclaimed acts plus a handful of RBMA past participants who've continued on an upward spiral!

Joining the previously announced Broken Social Scene at RMBA are The Drums, a band set to be one of the major breakthrough acts of 2010. Already, they were No.1 in NME's list of the hottest new acts for this year and their brilliant single 'Let's Go Surfing' hints at great things for their forthcoming debut album.

Dirty Projectors' last LP 'Bitte Orca' was many critics choice for album of the year last year and the Brooklyn band's genre-defying brilliance makes them an essential festival must-see.

Gabriella Cilmi took the charts by storm last year. Her single 'Sweet About Me' propelled her to stardom and became the biggest selling single of the year both in Ireland and in the UK. The Australian singer songwriter's gift for perfect pop songs is further showcased on new album 'Ten'.

Rising hip hop stars Chipmonk and Tinie Tempah will also perform at RMBA. Both these exciting new talents have already achieved huge success and UK No.1singles: Chipmonk with 'Oopsy Daisy' and Tinie Tempah with 'Pass Out'.

Manchester electro indie stars Delphic made the top 3 of BBC's Sound of 2010 chart and they've since set about justifying the hype with album 'Acolyte' being hailed as one of the finest debuts in years.

Ex Red Bull Music Academy participant Hudson Mohawke, who drew the crowds to the OXEGEN Dance Arena in 2009, also returns to the stage this year. Completing today's announcement are Wild Beasts, Local Natives, Jamie Lidell, Alex Metric, Neon Indian and The Capitals.

Look out for more fantastic additions to The Red Bull Music Academy in the run up to the festival!
