A Ballymena Restaurant was celebrating this week after it received the coveted TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

Spice, an authentic Indian Restaurant, located at Broughshane Street in the town, marked receipt of the accolade, which honours hospitality excellence with a special dinner.

To qualify for a Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, and must have been listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

“Spice Ballymena is very pleased and proud to receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence,” said Jay Jjman, the proprietor of Spice. “We strive to offer our customers a memorable experience, top quality food and first class service, and this accolade is evidence that our hard work is translating into positive reviews on TripAdvisor. The Certificate of Excellence award provides top performing establishments around the world with the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers.”

Mayor of Ballymena, Cllr. Audrey Wales, who was a guest at the event said: “I am delighted that Spice has been awarded this Certificate of Excellence. Based on the quality of the food and service this evening it is thoroughly well deserved. Restaurants like Spice are vital to the evening economy in Ballymena and I wish Jay every success in the future.”
