Storyteller for ‘Hard of Hearing’ Club

Caption for pic: Members of the Ballymena Club for the Hard of Hearing celebrated the birthday of Miss Jean Johnston MBE at their latest meeting. Members took the opportunity to thank Jean for her many years of dedicated work for the Club, which she started over 20 years ago in 1993.

This is one of many events organised by the Ballymena Club for the Hard of Hearing to help enhance the lives of those living with hearing loss.

Martha Wilson, Chairperson for the Club, explained: “With the help of a loop system and some lip reading skills, our members can enjoy social events like this one which they may have otherwise missed out on or avoided.

“New members are always welcome to attend any of our meeting and the Club also runs Lip Reading Classes, free of charge, on Saturday morning at 10.30am.”

The next meeting is on Wednesday 12th March at 7.30pm at Ballykeel Business Centre.

The Lip Reading Classes are funded by Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland.
