Skill exchange is supported not just by Wrightbus but also by local firms Michelin, JTI, Dunbia and at the educational level by the Northern Regional College. The project is already helping to establish exchanges between companies which help build skills and maintain employment.

Speaking at the conference Ian Paisley said: “It was good to be here and to promote our local industry and hear about opportunities for local employers to grow and how to overcome obstacles to business success.

“As an MP my job is to help local companies small and large to sustain employment and locally we have seen much success. Our recently launched investigation into bank structure is already examining what can be done to help businesses with finance issues. We must continue to partner with and encourage the private sector.

David Dobbin the MD of Ballymena Dale Farm plant spoke at the conference and encouraged local companies to look at how they can grow their business and export the best made food products in the world.
