The store was originally opened in the Fairhill Shopping Centre in 1994 by directors Adrian Murdoch and Valerie Penney, both of whom still oversee the store’s operations today.

The Ballymena store has grown significantly over the last twenty years, having first opened its doors with six full-time members of staff.

The store now boasts 28 employees, four optical testing rooms and a hearing service, which is open for testing every Tuesday, and is managed by audiologist Joanne Torrens. The store also offers free hearing screenings seven days a week, and has an upper floor that is solely dedicated to providing customers with contact lens.

Adrian Murdoch, store director, said: “We are very proud to be celebrating twenty years in business and I am delighted that I have been here for all twenty of those years. It is a great achievement for the store, and without the continued support from our local community, we would not be able to celebrate such a significant milestone.

“We are looking forward to the next twenty years with excitement and enthusiasm.”
