Sea Cadets is an all-inclusive youth charity which provides countless opportunities for young people aged between 10 and 18 offering them a range of activities, on the water and off it, while developing their self-belief and confidence.

Sea Cadets aims to give young people ‘a new perspective, broaden horizons and create possibilities’.

Working across the UK with 14,000 young people between 10 and 18, they help them see the world with confidence, gained through the challenge of nautical adventure and a Royal Navy ethos.

Ballymena unit meets on a Tuesday night from 7.15pm-9.30pm and, with the boating season just about to begin, new cadets will get a lot experience, learn new skills and make new friends.

Volunteers are also needed to help make the unit a success and can give up as much of their time as they wish, with a variety of roles available in instruction and management. businesses.

The Captain Sea Cadets, Captain Phil Russell RN, said: “There are countless opportunities for young people at Sea Cadets – they can enjoy water-based and land activities, go on offshore voyages and take part in recognised schemes, such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, all while boosting their self-confidence and making new friends.
