Boyhood comes to The Old Courthouse

The Cine-Club at The Old Courthouse, Antrim continues to show the best in classic and contemporary cinema, with a one-off screening of Boyhood.

Richard Linklater’s award-winning movie which will be shown on Thursday, August 6 at 7.30pm.

Boyhood, which was filmed over 12 years with the same cast, tells the ground breaking story of growing up as seen through the eyes of a child named Mason (a breakthrough performance by Ellar Coltrane).

Mason literally grows up on screen before our eyes as we follow him from early childhood to starting college.

Starring Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette (who won an Academy Award for her performance) as his parents, the viewer is presented with snapshots of adolescence from road trips and family dinners to birthdays and graduations.

The film is both a nostalgic time capsule of the recent past and an ode to growing up, parenting and ultimately, life.

Winner of Best Film at the Golden Globes and the BAFTA Awards in 2014, Boyhood is a once in a lifetime cinematic experience.
