The Castle Mall in Antrim will be playing host to a Fairtrade Cookery Demo and Fair this Friday, March 11 from 10am to 4pm.
The event, which is being held as part of Fairtrade Fortnight, will see international award-winning chef and author of ‘Feast or Famine’, Emmett McCourt hosting cookery demonstrations.
The live cookery demonstrations will run over lunch time from 1pm to 2pm.
This event will provide you with inspiration on the tasty treats that can be prepared using Fairtrade ingredients, many of which will also be available to buy for you to try at home.
Stalls will be selling a range of products and local crafts.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg, said: “The market offers visitors the opportunity to purchase some well-priced, unique and ethical gifts for family and friends.
“The cookery demonstration is designed to encourage everyone to continue supporting Fairtrade as this will help farmers and workers, both locally and across the globe obtain a fair return for their produce.”
This year’s Fairtrade Fortnight is supporting the theme of ‘Sit down for breakfast, stand up for farmers’ so why not do your bit and enjoy a Fairtrade breakfast in your community during Fairtrade Fortnight.
