The event was in memory of their friend Allison Russell. Originally from Co Armagh, Allison was a teacher in Gracehill Primary for many years before becoming Head Teacher at Mosside Primary School Ballymoney. She lived with her family at Rathkenny and had recently retired from teaching when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in late 2010. She passed away on April 1 following a long battle with the disease..

Catherine, Paula and Victor Russell would like to thank everyone who attended the coffee morning and gave so generously and also those who were unable to attend on the day but also contributed to the excellent total of £1465.

This was a reflection of the high regard in which Allison was held and also a massive vote of thanks to the Marie Curie staff who tirelessly assist many families at their time of greatest need.
