Renowned painter Richard Croft will be exhibiting his latest exhibition at the Oriel Gallery, Antrim Castle Gardens, from June 17 until October 2.

Richard turns 80 this summer and this exhibition of his work will span a period of over 60 years.

Richard Croft moved to Northern Ireland in 1959 to teach art. During the 60s and 70s he exhibited regularly across Ireland.

Over the past 40 years he has had many one person shows and his work is represented in public and private collections around the world.

With his subject matter focusing mainly on still life and landscapes, this promises to be a stunning exhibition of 60 years work which will include student work from the 1950s, drawings, oil paintings, pastels and prints.

Cathy Brown, Arts Officer with the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, said: “Richard exhibited in Clotworthy House many years ago.

“We are delighted to share his work in our new Oriel Gallery and to share in his birthday celebrations.

“I’m particularly excited about the Gallery Talk he will give on Saturday, July 4 at 2pm.

“Places are free, but limited and must be booked in advance at www.antrimandnewtownabbey.gov.uk/boxoffice or by contacting Clotworthy House reception on 028 9448 1338.”
