5. Colin Glen SkyTrek, Belfast
Suitable for ages 10 and up, this activity centre starts visitors on the low ropes course before progressing to heights of 50 feet. The centre also has a fan descender free-fall, a 90 metre zip line and 30-foot multi-level climbing wall.

6. The Gobbins, Islandmagee
The Gobbins cliff path takes visitors across a suspension bridge, tunnels and along pathways in an up close and personal experience of the spectacular coastline. It is suitable for older children or teenagers over 1.2 metres in height.

7. Glenariff Forest Park , Glenariff
Grab a picnic and your walking shoes for a day out at this scenic spot. With over 1,000 hectares of planted woodland, lakes, recreation spaces and conservation areas, the park has several trails to explore, including the stunning 3km Waterfall walk.

8. Carrickfergus Castle, Carrickfergus
Kids and adults alike can enjoy finding out more about medieval life at this remarkably preserved Norman castle on the shores of Belfast Lough. It is currently open for pre-booked guided tours only; to book, phone 028 9335 1273.
