Hearing loss clinic

Action on Hearing Loss and the Northern Trust are helping everyone in the Ballymena area to make sure their hearing aids are in tip-top condition for the summer.

They are holding a ‘Hear to Help’ drop in clinic at 10am-12noon on Friday, June 19 2015, Wilson House Day Centre, Raceview Road Broughshane.

Trained volunteers, who wear hearing aids themselves, will be on hand to give free, practical advice on cleaning and maintaining hearing aids. They can help to solve any problems you may be having with your hearing aid and offer advice on how to manage your hearing loss with confidence.

Hear to Help Coordinator, Laura Murphy says, “For many people who are given hearing aids, simple issues like comfort, maintenance and batteries can be major barriers to using them effectively. Our clinics will be a chance to find out how to use basic functions and carry out simple maintenance so you can hear much more clearly and comfortably.”

The initiative is a partnership with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust who have trained Action on Hearing Loss volunteers to assist people who may have issues and to signpost them to the Trust if they require hearing aid repairs or need their hearing aid programmed. The Trust will also provide tubing and batteries for anyone who is experiencing difficulties.
