Historical Society meeting

With the 100th anniversary of the Larne Gun Running approaching, the events of April 24-25 1914 will be recalled at next Tuesday’s (March 18) meeting of Antrim and District Historical Society.

David Hume MBE is the guest speaker and he will tell the story of how an arms shipment including 25,000 rifles was brought ashore at Larne, Bangor and Donaghadee.

The arms were destined for the Ulster Volunteer Force in its fight against Home Rule for Ireland.

The monthly meeting starts at 7.30pm in Clotworthy House. Admission for non-members is £3.
