Members of Inner Wheel from across Ireland travelled to Ballymena on Friday for the 70th Anniversary Inner Wheel Rally.
They were welcomed to the very special event, which was held at Galgorm Resort & Spa, by Ballymena Club President Esther Cahoon.
Among those in attendance was District Chairman of Inner Wheel District 16 (Ireland), Pamela Boreland, who is a member of the Ballymena Club and a Past President.
Also attending were District Chairs from England and Scotland; Association President for Great Britain and Ireland, Trish Douglas; District Governor for Rotary in Ireland, Declan Tynan; and William McKean, who will shortly be assuming the role of local Rotary Club President.
As District Chairman over the last year Mrs Boreland has helped to co-ordinate and develop the work of Inner Wheel across Ireland and she expressed her delight that so many members had made the effort to attend.
She thanked all of the members of the District Executive as well as members of her own local Club for all of their help and support over the last year.
The High Sheriff of County Antrim, James Perry, was a guest at the Rally and, at the invitation of the District Chair, he explained the purpose and function of his historic role.
The keynote address was given by Association President, Trish Douglas, who encouraged Inner Wheel members in all of the various activities they undertake in their individual Clubs.
She also reminded everyone of the international dimension of Inner Wheel, an organisation which now has over 100000 members across the globe and congratulated Mrs Boreland on a successful year as Chair of District 16.
After an excellent meal, Mrs Boreland thanked all of the guests for their attendance and, in particular, she expressed her appreciation to all those who had helped in any way to make the 70th Anniversary Rally such memorable occasion.
