After the hugely successful productions of Cinderella with Olivia Nash in 2013 and Eoghan Quigg as Aladdin in 2012, c21 are back with the world famous story of the young boy Jack who sells the family cow in exchange for magic beans.

The magic beans turn into a beanstalk and after Jack climbs it, he discovers a whole new world.

The brilliant cast includes Aaron Cathcart as Jack, Debra Hill as Jill and Richard Priestly as Widow Twankey.

The Company will also introduce local children during the show in the form of Peter and Paul, the Two Dicky Birds.

Local dance group Ballymena Dance Academy will have a say too when they feature some of their talented dancers on the Braid’s stage.

Producer Stephen Kelly gives a taste of the show this year: “We are delighted to be back at the Braid this year for our eighth appearance and another brand new piece.

“It has a real local flavour this time with children from the area taking part in the professional production. “Dancers and young amateur actors will share the stage with our professional actors in what promises to be a very special Christmas treat.”

Local children were selected to take part after auditions throughout the province.
