Sophie’s the choice for ‘Great Killymurris Bake Off’ title

Winner of the ‘Great Killymurris Bake Off’ - Sophie Gaston (left) with fellow finalists Sara Jane Gregg and Ruth McBurney pictured with the duo of guest judges from the Angel Cake Bakery, Coleraine. Hosted by the Glarryford based Killymurris Girls Brigade, the competition was open to everyone of age 14 and over. Ran over three hotly contested stages, entrants were asked to present three identical cupcakes in heat one with the six semi finalists then given the task of producing 12 identical free-style profiteroles and the finalists asked to bake a ‘classic Victoria sandwich’ in front of a packed audience with brigader, Sophie Gaston, crowned the winner. The organisers have extended congratulations to Sophie and thanks to all the other bakers and everyone who helped make the event such a success.
