Try this...Christmas Salad

by Arlene Thompson, Sainsbury’s Try Team

I KNOW it seems a bit early to mention the “C” word but in case you havent noticed the festive season is almost upon us. This recipe is perfect as a colourful and nutritious starter or a healthy light lunch.

I cooked this up at the Olympia Good Food Show and everyone there really enjoyed it. The avocado is a delicious fruit and is rich in omega 3 making it a healthy choice.

To remove the stone simply cut into the pear until the knife touches the stone and then cut the pear in half by cutting right round the stone.

Twist the two halves to separate them and remove the stone by making a single chop with the blade of a sharp knife in one single movement.

The knife is lodged into the stone, and then all you need to do is twist the knife and the stone is easily removed.
