The number of people registering as out of work in Ballymena saw a small decrease last month, down 48.
According to the latest figures from the Department of Enterprise, the claimant count in Ballymena now stands at 1,092, compared to 1,140 (July).
Wards registering the most claimant counts for unemployment in August were Ballee with 84 (85 in July), Ballykeel with 82 (91 July), Dunclug 72 (81 July) and Fair Green 71 compared to 77 in July.
The ward with the lowest count was Slemish with 14 last month, compared to 16 in July.
In neighbouring Antrim, the jobless total rose month on month from 821 in July to 845 in August.
There the wards registered the most claimant counts for unemployment in August were Spring Farm with 84 (78 in July), Crumlin with 83 (83), and Fountain Hill with 62 (54).
The ward with the lowest count was Templepatrick with 13, down four on the previous month.
Province-wide, the number of people claiming unemployment benefits in Northern Ireland decreased over the past month. Figures from the Department showed there were 1,000 fewer claimants in August which means the total has dropped by 10,400 over the year and now stands at 42,000.
