Thirty residences were evacuated last August when a blaze broke out in the premises and at the height of the inferno 50 firefighters, six pumps and two aerial appliances attended the scene.

At Thursday night’s Council planning meeting, planners approved amended plans from Kilronan Developments to build 13 townhouses and 13 apartments along with a new road through the site and car parking. The application received one letter of objection.
