758 out of work in Antrim area

There has been a slight decrease in number of people registering as out of work in the Antrim area.

According to the latest figures from the Department of Enterprise, the claimant count now stands at 758, compared to 773 in October.

Indeed, unemployment figures for the Antrim area have been on the decline in recent months, with 821 out of work in July.

Wards registering the most claimant counts for unemployment in November were Springfarm with 72 claimants (73 in October), Crumlin with 68 claimants (72 in October), and Fountain Hill with 55 claimants (57 in October).

The areas with the lowest claimant count last month were Templepatrick (12), Parkgate (18), and Shilvodan (19).
