When you reach the '˜big league' the only way to stay with the top teams is to work hard and show commitment - as football loving councillor, Stewart McDonald knows only too well!

And that’s why the Bannside TUV representative is using some of his well known soccer coaching motivational techniques to help bring everyone in the village ‘onside’ for a push towards the ultimate in evnvironmental awards.

He said: “The Ahoghill In Bloom team have put so much time and effort in over the years, and this August they could go one step further as the title of “Champion of Champions” across the whole UK will be decided.

“We all now need to focus on preparing the village for this step up - I know in my heart that Ahoghill already is a champion, but I would dearly love to see our village be put on the map by winning the UK wide competition.

“It is time for everyone to join together and get ready for the “Champion of Champions” awards.”
