Antrim Road pedetrian safety scheme gets underway

DUP Councillors Martin Clarke, Hubert Nicholl and Paul Frew say they’re delighted road safety improvements are coming to fruition on the Antrim Road.

Last September, the trio met with DRD Roads Service officials on site to highlight numerous traffic concerns which had been raised with them by residents.

Alderman Clarke added: “The majority of concerns have been met and we are now in the process of getting two new traffic islands which will making crossing much safety for pedestrians.

“We would like to thank the DRD Roads Service for listening to local views and acting on them and we would also like to thank Peter McCool of The Phoenix Garage for putting in place a ‘one-way’ entrance/ exit system at the premises which is improving traffic movement there.”
