Police arrested a man on suspicion of possession of Class B drugs, threats to kill and assault on police Tuesday evening in the Central Park area of Antrim.
Officers were called to an address following a report of a man armed with a crossbow. The 41 year old man was arrested outside the house after around forty minutes.
Chief Inspector Stephen Reid said: “This was a dangerous situation for everyone involved, including police officers and neighbours.
“We are pleased that the arrest was made without serious injury to any person. We discovered around 11 cannabis plants inside the house and recovered two loaded crossbows.
“The man who was arrested received hospital treatment overnight and is being questioned by officers today.”
