Attempted robbery at Dublin Road in Antrim

Police in Antrim are investigating an attempted robbery at a shop in the Dublin Road area on Thursday afternoon.

A man came enterred the shop at around 4.30pm armed with a knife.

The man ran out of the shop when challenged by staff and made off in the direction of Antrim town.

The man is described as 5 foot 3” in height and was wearing a navy coat and a blue and cream coloured scarf over his face at the time.

Constable Montgomery said: “We would like to speak with anyone with any information on the matter. Specifically, did you see a man fitting this description in the area either immediately before or after the attempted robbery?

“If you can assist the investigation in any way, please call Antrim police on the non-emergency number 101. Or, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
