Attempted robbery in Randalstown

Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery at commercial premises on Main Street, Randalstown yesterday evening.

Detective Sergeant Colin Gray said: “It was reported that at approximately 9.35pm that a man entered the shop and approached the checkout.

“The man was wearing a hooded top with the hood up over his head and face.

“He was also holding what was believed to be a firearm.

“He was only in the store for a couple of seconds before making off in the direction of Neilsbrook Estate. He left the store empty handed.”

He is described as being approximately 5’10” - 6’1” tall and of slim build.

DS Gray added: “I would ask anyone who may have noticed this man acting suspiciously or who has any information to contact Police at Antrim on the non-emergency number 101.
