Back Avenue path dispute

A dispute over access to a path known as ‘The Back Avenue’ in the village of Broughshane is the talk of the award winning village.

Local residents claim the path, to which access has been prohibited by the new owners of the land which it crosses, is a public right of way.

On the other hand, the new owners are adamant that no such right exists. And they say that if they are not permitted to control access to the path, ambitious plans for a job boosting development at the Mill cannot go ahead.

We present the views of both camps in this week’s paper. Out on Tuesday morning.
