Ballymena gearing up for Carfest 2012

AFTER raising an incredible £51,000 over 3 years for MacMillan Cancer Support, the hugely popular Ballymena Car Fest and Truck Show is back .. and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever!

It has been confirmed that Northern Ireland’s premiere car show is returning to the borough on Saturday, June 9 at Ballee Playing Fields from 11.00am to 5.00pm.

Multiple British Champion, Top Gear stunt driver and Guinness World Record Holder, Paul Swift returns again this year with his Precision and Stunt Driving Team.

His team of highly successful motorsport champions have over 100 years combined experience in the event industry and they regularly thrill audiences throughout the world with driving sequences that will take your breath away.

This year he promises to astonish crowds again and is being accompanied by another stunt driver where they plan to put a twist on Strictly Come Dancing!

Once again the show is open to all vintage, classic, modern classic, modified, custom show cars, trucks, vintage tractors, vintage-classic-race motorcycles & all forms of motorsport cars. There are a large number of classes to cater for all, with over £4000 worth of prizes.

Vehicles can enter for the Meguiar’s Concours Car of the Year 2012 and will be meticulously judged on a number of different areas including: exterior, interior, underbody, engine bay, boot & presentation. Points will be awarded for these different areas and prizes will be awarded to the top three points scorers, with the top points winner being awarded the “Meguiar’s Northern Ireland Concours Car of the Year 2012” accolade.

For all those Rally Fans out there, Colin Mcrae’s Safari Rally Winning Subaru will be on display.

All proceeds from the show will go to ‘MacMillan Cancer Support’ Charity.

A free coach will run every 30 minutes between the Carfest and Fairhill Shopping Centre for those requiring some retail therapy after viewing the fantastic show or for those stuck in the town shopping with the mrs, you can come out and enjoy the Carfest.
