Bog Road residents draw up petition over safety concerns

Local MLA Paul Frew has called on Transport NI to grit the Bog Road outside Ballymena - and, in the meantime, he’s also appealing for motorists to slow down when using it.

Mr Frew said: “Residents living in and around the Bog Road are concerned about the speed of cars travelling on it. They have even written to me with a signed petition.

“What people may not realise is that whilst the Woodside Road at one end and Crebilly Road at the other are gritted routes, Bog Road is not.

“I am really asking people to slow down here, this road is used on a daily basis as a main link road into Ballymena and people should be taking extra care. I would ask Transport NI to consider gritting the road. There have been far too many accidents happening here and further action needs to be taken for the safety of those travelling on this road on busy or threatening conditions,” he said.
