Bridge Street Woolworths store doors open again
The Old Woolworths store on Bridge Street opened its doors on Friday for the first time in years.
But unfortunately for fans of the chain, it is not re-opening as work being carried out was on sewage pipes and not renovation work.
An engineer on site carrying out maintenance told the Times that a number of passers-by had made comments about the store re-opening.
There will be no renaissance for the once thriving shop that closed years ago, moving to the Tower Centre before the demise of the chain back in 2009.
