MEMBERS of Broughshane WI met in the Community Centre recently for their Annual General Meeting, presided over by Ethel Simpson, Slemish Area President ,and assisted by tellers Anna Mae Wharry and Betty Keys.

Eileen Mol was re-elected as President by a unanimous vote.

Martha Wilson read the Annual Report and Diana McCaughey gave a financial report while Sophia Maybin thanked all who contributed to the meeting.

Two new members - Isabel Bell and Rhonda Wylie were welcomed and congratulations were extended to the following award winners: Mary Knox - the Finlay Cup, Annie Hamilton - Competition Cup, Mary Robinson - Competition Runner-up Shield.

Mary Knox was the winner of the Magazine Prize Draw and Isobel Bell won a raffle prize donated by Ethel Simpson.

Craft classes resume on Monday, September 26, and Floral Art on Thursday, September 29, both in Houston’s Mill, and are open to members of the community.

Winners of the WI Ballymena Show Fireside Quiz were 1st Ethel Simpson, Carnlough; 2nd Erica Lavinia Lund, Moira; and, 3rd Mary Adams, Rathkenny.
