Burglars leave thank-you note

Detectives are investigating an incident during which a number of people are thought to have broken into a building on Ballymena’s Cushendall Road, helped themselves to tea and biscuits and left a thank you note behind.

Detective Constable Chris Campbell said: “We think the building was broken into over night between Wednesday, September 17, and Thursday, September, 18.

“Nothing was taken by the intruders, other than tea and coffee drank and biscuits eaten. However, a door was broken to gain entry.

“These people left a thank you note for the tea, coffee and biscuits which was a strange thing. Despite the apparent manners of the intruders, breaking into a building is a criminal offence,” said DC Campbell, who appealed for anyone with information to call Ballymena detectives on the non-emergency number 101.
