Calling all family history enthusiasts

WOULD you like to discover more about your ancestors who left Ireland? Then you are welcome to join staff from the Mid-Antrim Museum who have organised a genealogy bus trip to The Mellon Centre for Migration Studies, Omagh, on Friday, June 8.

Specialist staff will be on hand to introduce you to The Mellon Centre library sources available – including maps, audio-visual material and the Irish Emigration Database which holds a collection of primary source documents relating to Irish-American emigration. A visit to the Ulster American Folk Park and a recently opened exhibition Titanic: Window on Emigration is also included.

The bus departs at 10am from Mid-Antrim Museum at The Braid, Bridge St. and will return for 5.30pm. Lunch is not provided, though restaurant facilities are available. Suitable outdoor clothing is advisable for walking in the Park.

Tickets cost just £10 and can be purchased at the Tourist Information Centre, The Braid, Bridge Street or ring 028 2563 5900 to book your place.
