Careers Fair in Ballymena

ALL the post-primary schools in the borough of Ballymena have been invited to send delegations of pupils to the Careers Fair being staged by the Ballymena Business Education Partnership on February 21.

Sixty eight exhibitors representing business, industry, training and further and higher education will be present on that day at Cambridge House Grammar School, which was kindly agreed to host the event in its sports and main assembly halls.

Chairperson of the Ballymena DEP Daphne Harshaw, is delighted that employers and those involved in delivering further and higher education programmes see this career’s fair as a major event in their itinerary.

“With in excess of 1,600 students and teachers drawn from schools throughout the two Boroughs and beyond expected to pass through during the day. We are delighted that so many organisations have agreed to participate,” she said.

“For that reason, we are very grateful to the principal and the Board of Governors at Cambridge House for accommodating this very large event.”

Support funding for the careers fair is sourced from the Department of Education which is very keen to foster school business links, particularly in the light of the revised Northern Ireland curriculum.

The fair opens for business at 9.30am and will be in operation throughout the school day until 3.00pm apart from a 45 minute break for lunch beginning at 12.30pm.
