Carmichael murder: Partner admits assaulting her on day of her alleged killing

A man has admitted assaulting his partner on the same date that his son is alleged to have murdered her.

David Foster (59), of Hillside, Antrim has pleaded guilty to assaulting Pauline Carmichael on February 23.

His son Alan Norman Foster (37), a former soldier, is charged with killing her on the same date.

The 61-year-old’s body was found in Lough Neagh, about a mile from the house she shared with Foster at Hillside in Antrim.

A pre-sentence report for David Foster has been requested by District Judge Alan White.

The case of David Foster was adjourned to November 17 in Antrim Magistrates Court.
