Castle Tower: latest moves

BALLYMENA Borough Council are keeping the pressure on for a new Castle Tower Special School which would incorporate its three current campuses on one site.

It was pointed out at last Tuesday night’s monthly meeting of the local authority that the Economic Appraisal for the project had passed from the Department of Education to the Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP) for review.

Pointing out that this was “good news”, Chief Executive of Council, Mrs Anne Donaghy suggested that a letter be sent to the DFP to ascertain details of the review process and its timescale and this was unanimously backed by councillors.

The Mayor, Cllr James Currie added: “We can do no more now except to keep writing. We have done everything that is humanly possible at this point in time”.
