Centenaries exhibition coming to Ballymena

BALLYMENA has been chosen as the venue for a new exhibition celebrating the last one hundred years of local history.

The Decade of Centenaries exhibition has been on display recently in Belfast City Hall and will relocate to the Braid in February for a loan period of four months.

The theme of the exhibition is ‘Shared History - Different Allegiances’ and it features many key events from the period. Councillor James McClean voiced his approval at the news and called on any local people, who have artefacts they have to get in touch.

He said: “This is an excellent exhibition. If any of the general public have artefacts in the area they could bring them along.”

Chief Executive Anne Donaghy said: “The exhibition will be on display in two glass cabinets, if people would let us know what they have, we can decide what needs to be done.”
