Translink are holding a Charity Car Boot sale on Saturday, August 29 to celebrate the opening of the new Ballymartin Park & Ride in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The charity car boot sale will take place at the new Ballymartin Park & Ride site, located off the M2 at Templepatrick. Bus services will operate from the new facility on September 1 for passengers travelling to and from Belfast City Centre.
Translink Communications Manager, Lynda Shannon said: “We are delighted to be working with Macmillan and Templepatrick Action Community Association (TACA) to host this charity car boot sale to raise awareness of this new Park & Ride facility.
“There will be 100 spaces for sellers to set up from 8am – 9am. Spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. The gates for the buying public will be open from 10am to 1pm.”
“Park and Ride continues to be very popular as it offers customers a fast, frequent, great value and hassle free journey option. We are looking forward to getting services underway and will have Translink staff at the event to provide information on the new services.”
Macmillan Cancer Support Regional Corporate New Business Manager, Claire Brown said: “We are very excited about the car boot sale at the new Ballymartin Park & Ride. I would ask all avid car-booters to come along to what is going to be a fantastic event in aid of people with cancer living in Northern Ireland.
“So far, Translink employees and passengers have raised over £25,500 for Macmillan and we are looking forward to working with a very enthusiastic and dedicated team again.”
Committee Deputy Chair, Templepatrick Action Community Association (TACA), Bill McAvoy said: “We have worked with Translink before and this event is sure to be another great success. I would encourage everyone to come along and help raise money for Macmillan and find out information about the new service.”
