Bannside TUV councillor Stewart McDonald says he has been contacted by a parent who fears that her child was ‘followed’ by a man in a car yesterday.
Alderman McDonald said: “I have been told this happened yesterday (Thursday) evening in the vicinity of Thornebrooke in Ahoghill after he had been out playing with friends.
“The PSNI have been contacted and investigations are currently underway. After the reported abduction attempt in Harryville I am asking everyone to talk to their children about safety and to encourage them at all times to be with friends while out. We all have a role to play in keeping our children safe.”
The Times has sought an update on the ‘suspicious approach’ in Queen Street earlier this week but no further details have been forthcoming.
