Children enjoying Titanic Reading Voyage to hit 13,000!

LATEST figures released by Libraries NI reveal that over 12,900 children have been taking part in the Titanic Reading Voyage in libraries across Northern Ireland during the summer holidays.

It is not too late to set sail on this wonderful voyage of discovery into the world of library books and Libraries NI is inviting children (aged 4 and over) and their parents / carers, to get on board this year’s Titanic Reading Voyage, by setting themselves a personal target to read any number of books (between 2 - 25) during August.

On ‘joining the voyage’ every child/adult will receive a Boarding Pass which will be stamped each time they read a book and they will also receive a Titanic Reading Voyage wristband to wear! Everyone achieving his or her personal goal will be awarded a First Class certificate, at the end of their reading journey.

Fun activities and colouring sheets are available for children to enjoy, with over 130 free events taking place in libraries during the summer to celebrate this reading challenge.

Children aged 4 and over are invited to call into any local library and sign up to the Titanic Reading Voyage today! There is no charge and admission to related summer events is free.

To find out more, call into any local library or go to the Libraries NI website at www.librariesni.org.uk
