The organisation has teamed up once again with the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) for the Family Appeal to ensure no child goes without a gift at Christmas.

And, they say the annual appeal is set to bring festive cheer to underprivileged children and families in Ballymena.

Last year, over 30,000 gifts were distributed to children across Northern Ireland – all of which was made possible by the generosity of local people and organisations.

Salvation Army’s Lieutenant Christopher Still said: “The aim of the Family Appeal is to make sure that no child goes without a gift on Christmas. We’re grateful to the generosity and support of the public in Ballymena because without that support there would be no Family Appeal.”

Pauline Brown, regional manager for St Vincent de Paul in Northern Ireland, said: “The Family Appeal is a vital part of our yearly calendar and really helps us meet the needs of children across Northern Ireland.”

Gift donations can be made at any branch of The Salvation Army or SVP NI. All gifts must be new and unwrapped and suitable for children and young people - from tiny tots to teenagers. Family gifts of board games are always welcome.

If you are eligible for support from the Family Appeal, contact Lieutenant Still on 028 2565 6818 for guidance notes and an application form.
