Her comment came at their meeting in The Braid on Thursday night, when members agreed a request from Ballymena Town Centre Development Ltd, to activate this year’s festive street illuminations on Thursday, November 13.

Economic & Tourism Development Manager, Sean Trainor said that date would ‘blend in and support’ other seasonal town centre events that month including Santa’s arrival at the Tower Centre on Thursday, November 20, and a three-day Christmas Food & Craft Market at Bryan Street from Thursday, November 27.

He added that a “test run” of the Christmas lights would take place on Thursday, November 6, to coincide with the evening of annual 9an-9pm Discount Day.
