The NI team will be competing against the top ranking shearers from countries such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, as well as those representing other regions of the British Isles.

This will be John Buchanan’s first year to compete at the World Championships, while his colleague, Kieran McCullough, came 3rd at the 2008 event in Norway.

Gerard Kelly, team manager, from Ballymena added: “We very much appreciate Glenfarm’s financial support for the team – and for their ongoing sponsorship over many years. We would urge NI’s sheep sector to show their support in return by utilising the company’s effective and efficient fallen stock collection service when the need arises.”
