Coleraine doctor loses life in avalanche

FAMILY and friends of Una Finnegan are in deep mourning after the young Coleraine doctor was one of four climbers killed in an avalanche in the Highlands of Scotland on Saturday.

Dr Finnegan, 25, died when most of her party of six were swept 1,000 feet down Bidean Nam Bian, a 3,700-feet peak in the notorious Glencoe area.

Two of the three other victims were also named by Scotland’s Northern Constabulary – Christopher William Bell, 24, and Tom Chesters, 28.
