Competitive action in Team Classic at Galgorm

IN the Team Classic Competition at Galgorm Castle Golf Club at the halfway stage the four-man team of Lyle Foster, Stephen Mailey, Keith Barkley and Robert Barkley held a one point advantage from John Hunt, Harkness McCaughan, Paul Hughes and David F Hamilton who were two points clear of the team consisting of Gary Crabbe, Raymond Steele, Adrian McCart and Jonathan McCart.

Andy Bradford, David Stirling, David Stirling jnr and Desmond Beckington were a further three points down.

After the twelfth the team of Crabbe, Steele, A & J McCart had moved up into a two point lead from Foster, Mailey, K & R Barkley with Hunt, McCaughan, Hughes and Hamilton another three points behind.

They were being pressed by Bradford, Stirling, Stirling jnr and Beckington a point behind.

Through 15 the positions remained the same but the leaders had increased their lead to five points.

Crabbe, Steele, A & J McCart picked up another 12 points over the closing three holes for a comfortable four point victory from Foster, Mailey, K & R Barkley in second place.

Hunt’s team still held a one point advantage over Bradford’s team with two to play but the positions were about to change down 17 when Bradford, Stirling, Stirling jnr and Beckington recorded six points to four points from Hunt, McCaughan, Hughes and Hamilton to lead by one point in third position.

The positions remained the same up the last when both teams picked up four points each.
