Copper stolen from church grounds

POLICE in Ballymena are investigating the theft of 240 metres of copper cabling from Power NI power lines in the grounds of a church on Toome Road.

Significant damage was caused during the theft on Thursday evening (February 14) with three electricity poles cut down.

Anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area of Ballee Baptist Church, Toome Road, is asked to contact police at Ballymena station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
